The Journey of Relaxation

Hello to all I just finished the journey of relaxation and I do feel that this can work for any body who really puts their mind to it. As I was listening to the recording I could feel my hands get warmer but I could not tell that they got heavy and I could not lift them. I do feel a little more relaxed then when I started but I do feel that this type of meditation takes practice. I have done things like this before and it is very hard for me to clear my mind and sit still. I do feel that I could eventually do this if I had time to practice it and make it happen. So maybe eventually I will get the chance to take the time to practice this method and learn how to clear my mind and sit still for more then 15 minutes at a time. However it was a great experience and I know that one day I will be able to do this and it is something that I am looking forward because I know it is something I need to do to help my overall health.

  1. The relaxation was nice but I could not seem to follow along and retrieve any benefit. I will try again later when I have different event going on with my life. K

    1. Yes it is a very hard technique for me as well and I am like you I will have to come back to this treatment method later in life when it has slowed a bet and I have more time to spend trying to clear my mind and sit still for more then 2 minutes.

    2. Hi Jackie! These relaxation techniques do require a bit of practice; however, the benefits are wonderful! I've never been able to take a nap...I simply can't fall asleep in the middle of the day:) A fifteen minute relaxation exercise such as "Journey On" can have a calming effect, while giving an energy boost at the same time!! Remember...practice makes perfect, and keep trying!

  2. Hi Jackie,

    I am starting to think that when we find the right technique to work for each of us, it will come easy. We need to find the right fit for ourselves. I really enjoyed the youtube videos the professor listed last week before class. I liked the visual aspect of them and I liked that all three had a different style of background music. I agree with Ami that practice makes perfect. and the Journey will be well worth it!

  3. It can be very hard to clear the mind and take the time to do meditation. I had this experience when I first took this course. I still have a hard time when I am extremely stressed to do my meditation. I still keep working on it because I know it is important. You will get it over time and it is very good for your health. I really enjoy my meditation time and have discovered many different ones I like to use. After this class, you may find others you like to use that fit your needs better. Good luck.

    I find that meditation works for me because I meditate on the Lord. I meditate on the word of God. This type of meditation brings peace and fulfillment. I have a chatter fre mind when I meditate on God. I am in control of my actions and all stress leaves.
